Held at Shoupe Park in Los Altos, the Welcome Picnic provides an opportunity for students and families to get to know one another in an informal setting before school starts. The ending time of 3:30 is rarely honored because both children and adults are having too much fun to leave.

Welcome Coffee – First Day(s) of School

Parents are encouraged to drop off their students on the first day of school, stay for coffee and treats, and chat with one another and with the principal. It is a good time to establish carpools, sign up for PTF and other parent activities, and, for new parents, to keep watch to assure that all is well with your child. This event takes place on the first Tuesday for full-time families and is repeated on Wednesday for the part-time families.

Students in grades 3-6 meet with their parents to inform them about their progress in class. A very extensive evaluation of their work (with many forms for guidance) is completed prior to the conference so that the students can present their best work and can discuss with their parents where they need to improve. Teachers are available for discussions after the student’s meeting. Appointment times are established during the first few weeks of November.

Grade Level Exhibitions – June, last week of school

To celebrate the year, children from each class make a summary presentation of what they have learned in each subject during the year. A different subject is presented each day, and the kindergarten begins each presentation followed by each class in order. Parents are encouraged to be present for any or all of the presentations. It is a wonderful close to the year and provides each student a chance to evaluate all that s/he has learned.

"At HERITAGE ACADEMY, without exception, the kids experience unconditional love and respect. We also appreciate the positive and safe environment."

"It has been great to be a part of a school community with shared values in placing Christ at the center of our child's education."
